The decision is not newly introduced as the company was aiming to close the browser from 6 years ago. On 17th March 2015, the company announced to replace Internet Explorer with the Microsoft Edge with the updated version. The current version Internet Explorer 11 will be down by November while the other services application such as Microsoft 365, outlook and other will be dropped by next year completely. Microsoft Teams web app will also stop supporting the latest version of the browser.
Microsft is not only closing the Internet Explorer but also aims to stop backing the legacy version for Microsoft Edge, Windows 10 users by 9th Match, 2021. The new version of Microsoft Edge launched on 15th Jan 2020, is said to be much faster and more alike to Google chrome due to the chromium feature present in the browser. But, the company has said that to uninstall edge from Windows 10 is not possible to cater as many as possible installs, disturbing some users as it forces them to adapt the all-new version.

Clearly, Internet Explorer will be remembered!
What the following changes will bring to the online business is now unsaid, as killing off Internet Explorer might also put an end to their businesses as some older apps still rely on IE interface, making it difficult for them to survive. Microsoft Edge is said to to be as speedy as Chrome but to substitute the loyal customer base is a task to pull off. Thus, the result for Microsoft Edge growth is awaited.
